Upper Mississippi River Reclaiming
Minneapolis, Minnesota
they/them/theirs. I'm a practitioner and priestex in the Reclaiming Witchcraft Tradition and have been an ebbing and flowing member of Upper Mississippi River Reclaiming, as that entity has ebbed and flowed, since 2002.
My beliefs are Naturalistic and apatheistic. I have little concern for whether deities exist when this sacred, living Earth and its denizens are so real and so dear to me.
I'm a member of the Minnesota Threshold Network, which offers community support, education, and advocacy around conscious dying, community-directed after-death care, and green disposition. I've been part of that organization since 2012, and part of its core planning and leadership team since 2014.
I am a death educator and death radical. The American overculture is one of profound death denial wrapped in capitalistic misdirection. Every honest conversation we have about death is an act of resistance and repair. Long die the revolution!
I write plays, crochet things, go snowshoeing and biking, snuggle my cats, and love my dear, overburdened grad student spouse, mediator and visual artist Leora Effinger-Weintraub
