3 Rays of Witchcraft

The Three Rays of Witchcraft

Experience the three primal powers that are the basis of creation and magick. Witches often see these powers as maiden, mother and crone. In Qabalistic magic, we have the three pillars of Mercy, Severity and Equilibrium. Druidic traditions look to three rays of inspiration, of Awen. Theosophists have the rays of Power, Love and Intelligence. Older form of witchcraft look to the Oak, Ash and Thorn, as well as the Straight, Bent and Crooked lines. How can modern witches work with these three powers for magick, evolution and transformation? Explore new views of the three powers as a road to enlightenment, as they manifest in three races ñ Angels, Fey and the Hidden Company; three healers - Stones, Plants and Animals; and three threads of wisdom, personal revelation, ancestral teachings and the ordeal.

Music and Magick

Music and Magick: sound, emotion, and energy Music is present in everything from the tiniest atom to the busiest planet. It has the power to change lives; to heal or to conjure; to stoke the fire of revolution. But how do we find it within ourselves? What is it that makes a lullaby work? Why is it that we can be deeply moved by a song sung in a language which we do not speak? Through warm-ups, singing, and basic energy work, join S. The Sacred Feminine

The Sacred Power of Feminine Sexuality Throughout history many cultures have associated feminine sexuality with sacred mysteries of life, regeneration, joy and humor. We see these values reflected in ancient art works depicting the Goddess Baubo, Venus of Willendorf, Sheela-na-gig. In modern times women's genitals have become taboo, objectified and divorced from the sacred. But even now, there are artists who have recognized it and have again focused on the the feminine in their art. Some examples are the photographs in the book "Petals" and the sculptures that make up "The Wall of Vagina". Join us as we explore the Sacred Power of Feminine Sexuality.

Even amidst the environmental destruction and abhorrent manner in which we humans treat air, water, earth, trees, plants and animals, a small but hopeful movement is emerging. Just as the Bill of Rights has led to the expectation of freedom of speech, freedom of religion and the right to bear arms, the Legal Rights for Nature movement is creating a presumption that Nature has the right to exist, maintain and regenerate its vital cycles, functions and processes. Death and the Pagan

As our community ages, we have had more deaths recently than we used to. I don’t think we as Pagans have quite gotten the hang to how to handle death and funerals. This is partly because we don't have professional clergy that are experienced and dispassionate. Our answers to specific questions - How would the deceased want her body disposed? What sort of service should be performed? - vary a great deal. And most important, what does death mean, which usually shapes the answers to the other questions. Let start talking about this issue.

Thinking Outside the Circle: Community Ritual as Art

Learn how 4 experienced ritualists, under the curatorship of well-known visionary artist Paul B. Rucker, created memorable celebrations of the seasonal "stations of the solar year" for the Northern Dawn Covenant of the Goddess (NorDCoG) community in 2011.

How did they approach drama, dance, music, pictorial art, poetry and literature as resources for public rituals that explored the traditional narrative of the Seasons in fresh and distinctive ways?

These ritualists, along with Steven Posch -- poet, scholar and ritual actor, will present more details about their methods of crafting exciting and artistic rituals. Questions and general discussion to follow.

Minzoku Neo-Shinto

Minzoku Neo-Shinto is, "A universalist approach to an existential Japanese folk religion." To break it down, universalist means it's open to anyone who's sincerely interested, it's not just for people of Japanese ancestory. Existential means it's based on personal experience, not on scripture or dogma. Folk religion means it's a religion as practiced by the commons – the everyday people – and on a local basis; it's not a religion as taught in the seminaries, universities, or on a national or international basis.

Neo-Hereticism

Neo-Hereticism: Spirtual/Intellectual integrity in a non-dogmatic culture: The essential evolution of discernment and rational thought in a quest for spiritual growth

Galileo, Martin Luther, Jeanne d’Arc, to name a few, were heretics whose opposition to conventional beliefs and practices set off series of events the effects of which still resonate today.

Neo-Paganism, bound neither by dogma nor hierarchy, is virtually immune to the concept of heresy … in the traditional sense. Neo-Hereticism is an evolution of self-determinant beliefs, challenging each of us to dig deeper and think stronger.

Neo-Hereticism creates a safety net as we navigate the sometimes murky waters of Pagan group and community interactions. Attendees of Emrys’ prior workshops will recognize familiar threads of compassion, ethics, and personal responsibility.
